I love studying human movement and bringing that knowledge to each client with their specific challenges, whether it be mobility and stability or to improve their sport performance and general health. My journey started while attending a Pilates class in the late 80’s I decided then I would pursue understanding the workings of the human body. My first course in 2006 I studied Yamuna Body rolling starting with Foot fitness which was my introduction to how everything is connected. In 2007 I started my Pilates education and became fully certified the following year.
My favourite client my husband kept me motivated to learn more as I wanted to keep him healthy to pursue his passion of doing Ironman. I then certified in Fascial Stretch Therapy from Stretch to Win a great addition to my tool box .
In 2009 I now had the opportunity to invest myself full time in exploring the many diverse modalities of human movement and healing. I am grateful I had the opportunity to learn from a such diverse group of talented teachers. These are are included in my tool box on the Fitness & Flexibility page.
A game changer for me happened in 2013. I was feeling frustrated with clients returning with the same injuries and chronic pain and was excited to learn about Neurokinetic Therapy...NKT the concept of looking at why the pain in the body kept recurring. I immersed myself in the courses and eventually became the 5th person in Canada to certify level 3. I now enjoy teacher assisting courses around the world and run local study groups. This by far is the most supportive group I have ever been apart of with so many different people with similar passions, different backgrounds helping each other whenever possible. I have since taken Anatomy in Motion a complete course on the bodies movement in gait. I am currently studying Proprioception Deep Tendon Reflex ...PDTR a cutting edge neurological look at pain and how the brain and body respond.
Always curious I have had the opportunity to take many weekend workshops (too many to name here) that have added to my understanding of the workings of human movement.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with numerous Ultra distance races and enjoy being part of the team to help the athletes finished their endurance events.
I look forward to the possibility of being on your team and helping improve your performance and experience more comfort in your movement what ever it may be.
